Carbon Neutral Organisation with Days Motor Group Ltd

At Day’s Motor Group, we are proud and delighted to announce that our Accident Repair Centre bodyshop site in Swansea has achieved carbon neutrality in accordance with PAS2060!

What does this mean?

In simple terms, any CO2 released into the atmosphere from our Bodyshop in Swansea’s activities is balanced by an equivalent amount being removed.

Partnering with Energy & Carbon specialists to the bodyshop sector, ECA Business Energy, we followed the agreed methodology of measuring our carbon footprint across all three scopes.

A carbon management plan is now in place which will see us focus on the following areas to reduce our emissions even further, year on year:

  • Process & procedures
  • Purchasing strategy
  • Green supply chain engagement
  • Employee engagement
  • Equipment
  • Infrastructure / self-generation

We’ve also invested in high quality internationally verified carbon credit offsets supporting international offsetting programs.

David Bond, Group Aftersales Director said, “we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and this acknowledgement of the steps we are taking to reduce our carbon footprint is testament to the hard work of our team to provide a greener operation. We all owe it to ourselves and to future generations to do as much as we can for the environment.

As a Bodyshop repair centre section of our business, this isn’t the most environmentally friendly as we use a lot of electricity and gas. We started increasing our recycling of materials investing in environmentally friendly measures, like LED Lighting and currently looking at solar panels along with other Energy saving products and processes.

We know this is important to the environment and our customers, after being educated about the true environmental benefits, we’ve been committed to becoming fully carbon neutral so to achieve it is a great achievement for the business.

Steve Silverwood, Managing Director, ECA Business added, “ECA are proud to have supported Day’s in achieving carbon neutrality in accordance with PAS2060. It is clear that the group have a long-term vision and strategy to achieve their environmental and sustainable goals and have already made significant progress in this area, we look forward to helping them further on their ongoing journey to net zero.
